This discussion is for Week 4, after you have started Module 4: Career Growth & Leadership.
In Module 4, you’ll focus on leading without needing a title. Leadership can look like welcoming someone new, noticing a problem before it grows, taking initiative within your scope, or lifting a teammate with helpful feedback. The module frames this as three moves: lead from any seat, own it, and lift others.

- What they actually did that made a difference.
- Which leadership move it connects to: Lead from any seat, Own it, or Lift others.
- One leadership move you can make during your first month on shift.
In your replies, be specific and encouraging. Build on a classmate’s idea, ask a thoughtful question, or point out a leadership strength you noticed in their example.

Quote from Zubaida Shamim Dewan on July 23, 2026, 11:18 pmOne person I have seen lead without a title was a senior coworker at my office. Although he was not a manager he was a normal employee but he always welcomed new team members, new patients, blood donors, guided volunteers, and stepped in to solve problems during blood donation camps.
What made the biggest difference was his positive attitude and willingness to help everyone. He took initiative, he always stayed calm under pressure, and encouraged the our team to work together. His actions made the workplace more organized and supportive, i have seen him that he never thought the seat and any title.
His example connects most closely to Lift Others because he helped teammates gain confidence, shared their knowledge, and motivated everyone to do their best.
During my first month at Pizza Hut, I can practice leadership by arriving on time, by being reliable, , by helping my teammates during busy shifts, and offering support whenever someone needs any kind of help and assistance. I never thought about leadership title, because to help others title is not necessary, Even without a leadership title, I believe that with a small acts of kindness, teamwork, responsibility, and encouragement we can make a positive difference.

Quote from Gulfam Sabar on July 24, 2026, 11:15 amDuring my internship at Avari Express Hotel, I saw a senior team member lead without a title. During busy breakfast shifts, he helped coworkers, guided new staff, and made sure guests were served quickly.
His actions made a difference because the team stayed organized and supported each other. This connects to Lift others.
During my first month at Pizza Hut, I will help my teammates during busy times, communicate respectfully, and support new team members when they need help.

Quote from Gulfam Sabar on July 24, 2026, 11:33 amMy experience: I worked on temple documentation for church members preparing for family sealing. We needed ancestors’ information, and the process was difficult. I put all my efforts and full dedication to research and collect records so the family could enter the house of the Lord and be sealed for eternity. When we found the needed information, the family was overjoyed and I felt deeply fulfilled. this is happened because i worked together with the family and let them felt the spirit of belonging.
What made the team work: We supported each other through a stressful, detail-heavy task. We stayed connected, shared responsibilities, and encouraged one another. That mutual support and shared purpose helped us handle the challenge and reach our goal.
What I’ll bring to the Pizza Hut team: The same spirit of service and teamwork — staying connected, stepping forward to help when someone is stressed, and offering consistent support so everyone feels valued and can focus on the job.

Quote from Sofia Patras Dewan on July 25, 2026, 2:57 pmOne example of someone I have seen lead without focusing only on her title is my sister, Raheela . She is the Relief Society President, but she does not only focus on the responsibilities that come with her position. S he is always willing to help with everything and serve wherever she is needed in the church and even in the area. Raheela does not think, "This is not my responsibility because it is not my position." Instead, she notices when people need help and takes action. She supports others, helps with different needs, and is always willing to serve. Her example has shown me that a title does not define a leader. A true leader is someone who cares about others and is willing to help. I think her example connects to all three leadership moves, but especially "Lead from any Seat" and "Lift others". She leads through her actions, not just through her title, and she lifts others by serving and helping them.
During my first month on shift, one leadership move i can make is to lead from any seat by being willing to help my teammates and take initiative when i notice something that needs to be done. I can also support and encourage others, even though i may be new. Raheela has taught me that leadership is about caring, noticing, and acting it's not just about having a title.

Quote from Patras Dewan on July 25, 2026, 3:23 pmOne example of someone I have seen lead without a title is actually from my own experience. In my previous job at a construction company, I worked as a supervisor. Many times, I noticed that some junior workers were struggling or not completing their tasks correctly. Instead of ignoring the situation, I stepped in to guide them, help them improve, and support them until they understood the work My actions made a difference because I helped my team members gain confidence and improve their work. From this experience, I learned that leadership is not only about having a title. It is about caring for others, noticing when someone needs help, and taking action to help them succeed. This example connects to the leadership move “Lift Others” because I supported and encouraged my coworkers so they could improve and become more successful. During my first month on shift at Pizza Hut, I will take the initiative to help my teammates whenever I notice that they need support. I will be willing to jump in, assist others, and encourage my team so that we can succeed together as one team.

Quote from Rizwan Sabar on July 27, 2026, 11:12 amOne of my colleagues I have seen show leadership without having an official position was a coworker who always helped others. Even though he was not a manager, he took responsibility, supported the team, and helped solve problems when they came up.
His actions made a difference because he cared about the success of the whole team. He did not wait for someone to tell him what to do; he noticed what was needed and took action.
This example connects with "Lead from any seat" because he showed that anyone can be a leader through their actions, attitude, and willingness to help.
During my first month at Pizza Hut, I can show leadership by being reliable, learning quickly, helping my teammates, and staying positive during busy times. I want to support my team and create a workplace where everyone feels respected and encouraged.

Quote from Reechal Azmat on July 27, 2026, 4:36 pmOne of the best examples of leadership without a title was a sister missionary I served with. She always looked for ways to help others without being asked. She welcomed new missionaries, encouraged those who were struggling, and was always willing to serve with kindness and patience. She led by example through her faith, hard work, and positive attitude. Because of her, our team felt more united, supported, and motivated to do our best.
This example connects most with Lift Others because she strengthened and encouraged everyone around her. She showed me that true leadership is about serving others, not having a title.
During my first month on shift, I want to lead by being reliable, learning quickly, helping my teammates whenever I can, and maintaining a positive attitude. I believe that even as a new team member, I can make a difference by serving others and doing my best every day.
Good luck everyone

Great example. I really like how you showed that true leadership is about serving, supporting others, and taking initiative. Wishing you all the best as you bring this Lift Others mindset to your team at Pizza Hut. Keep inspiring others.
