Start with Hello: Share Your Get to Know Me

Page 1 of 5Next

Your first connection starts here. For this discussion, introduce yourself to the cohort and share something from your Get to Know Me worksheet. This is how we start building the team support network you'll lean on during this program and your first weeks on the job.

To complete this discussion:

Post your introduction by Wednesday.
Reply to at least two classmates by Friday.

In your post, share:

  1. Your name and where you're joining from.
  2. One thing you want your cohort to know about you (pull from your Get to Know Me sheet!).
  3. One goal you have for this program.
  4. One way your teammates can support you as you learn.

In your replies, be specific and encouraging. Notice something you have in common, ask a thoughtful question, or cheer someone on.

Remember: Strong teams do not start on Day 1 by accident. They start when people take the first step to connect.

Hello,

My name is Conni Gull. I am a grateful mom, grandmother, BYU Pathway Service Missionary and avid tennis player. 🙂 I will be joining from the United States, in Park City, Utah. Home of the historically majestic and recently remodeled Salt Lake Temple. We are excited for the temple to reopen as that is our designated temple district! My husband and I currently serve in the Jordan River Temple, but will be reassigned to the Salt Lake Temple when it reopens for ordinances.

One thing I would want you to know about me is that I am very passionate about Leadership Development. I believe strongly in becoming proficient in these skill sets. They will serve you both professionally and personally. My goal for the time we have together (1 month) is to build a community of high trust and support as we discuss assigned content. One way I feel supported as a virtual facilitator is when we are in meetings, everyone has their camera on (bandwidth willing) and I can tell you are trying to be engaged.

I look forward to getting to know each of you and supporting your exciting journey at Pizza Hut!

Warmly,

Conni Gull

Hello everyone,

My name is Waqas Ilyas, and I am joining this cohort from Samanabad, Lahore, Pakistan. To share a little bit about myself from my Get to Know Me worksheet, my wife and I are both currently studying through BYU-Pathway. I served a mission in my own country 12 years ago, and I currently serve as the second counselor in our branch's Sunday School presidency. When I have free time, I love playing video games, having fun with my family and friends, and finding quiet places to sit alone and study the scriptures.

My main goal for this program is to build excellent communication skills and truly grow as a leader.

As we jump into learning all of this together, one way my teammates can support me is by being encouraging and open to collaborating as we figure things out. I am super excited for this internship and to be working alongside all of you!

Best,

Waqas Ilyas

Hello everyone,
My name is Sofia Patras. I am very excited about this opportunity to learn more about the food industry. I have always wanted to develop my knowledge and skills in food preparation, and I believe the BYU–Pathway Pizza Hut Internship is a wonderful opportunity to do so.
Cooking is one of my hobbies, and I am confident that the training and experience I gain through this internship will help me grow both personally and professionally.
I am naturally an introverted and shy person, so I also see this internship as a great chance to build confidence, develop meaningful relationships, and improve my communication and teamwork skills by interacting with others.
Thank you, and I look forward to learning and growing with all of you
